General Information:	Ad4BP/SF-1 (adrenal4 binding protein/steroidogenic factor-1[NR5A1]) is an orphan nuclear receptor that regulates the enzymes that produce steroids and is required for adrenal and gonadal development Ad4BP/SF-1 is important in the regulation of the pituitary gonadotropins, follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). Ad4BP/SF-1 is also expressed at high levels in the embryonic diencephalon that gives rise to the endocrine hypothalamus. Therefore Ad4BP/SF-1 plays an important role in the development and function of multiple endocrine organs that are essential for reproduction.

Special properties:	Anti-mouse STF-1 (Nr5a1) is useful in immunolocalization and Immunoblotting experiments conducted on different tissue types to determine the levels of expression of Ad4BP/SF-1 throughout development, as well as further analysis of the biological function and cellular dynamics of this protein.
