General Information:The pancreatic polypeptide (PP)(66 aa) is the pro-hormone of the pancreatic hormone (36 aa) found in PP- or F-cells of the Langerhans-islets of the pancreas. The concentration of PP in blood increases postbrandially of protein rich food. PP inhibits the enzyme and hydrogen carbonate production of the pancreas, the motility of the intestine and the efflux from the gallbladder.
