| Presentation: | Protein A purified IgG in PBS, pH 7.4, 0.03% sodium azide* |
| Immunogen: | Ni-NTA purified recombinant human IL-1 alpha, exprimed in E. coli strain BL21 (DE3) |
| Specificity: | Human Interleukin-1 alpha |
| Species Specificity: | Human |
| General Information: | Interleukin 1 alpha is exprimed as 31 kDa pro-molecule, which does not contain a signal sequence. By proteolytic cleaving the mature 17 kDa IL-1 alpha is generated. This peptide is released upon injury and apoptosis. IL-1 alpha stimulates the activity of osteoclasts in bone nad plays a role in the modulation of the extracellular calcium concentration. It activates T-cells, B-cells, and NK-cells. Endotoxins initiate the signal transduction of the pro-molecule and activate further pro-inflammatoric genes in the nucleus. |
