General Information:CDX2 is a homeobox-gen encoding for an intestinal transcription factor, which is exprimed by nuclei of intestinal epithelial cells especially in the rectum and duodenum. It is over-expressed in colorectal carcinoma and related metastases. It was also identified in metaplasia of the stomach and in carcinoma of the gut. CDX2 is not produced by normal mucous membranes of the stomach.

Special properties:The antibody against CDX2 is well suited for the detection of the product in cell nuclei and in tissue extracts.

Positive control:Colon carcinoma

Pre-treatment:Formalin-fixed tissue requires antigen unmasking in citrate buffer pH 6 (Art. No. DE000) 15-30 min at 100°C. Blocking of endogenous oxido-reductases with H2O2 1% 30 min., blocking of non-specific protein binding with SeaBlock (Art. No. PU083). Endogenous Biotin may be blocked with help of the VECTOR Avidin/Biotin Blocking Kit Ref. SP-2001) to avoid non-specific background staining.

Applications:IHC (C,P)

Incubation time:60 min at RT

Secondary reagents:We recommend the use of BIOLOGO's Universal Staining System DAB (Art. No. DA005) or AEC (Art.-No. AE005), if higher sensitivity is required VECTASTAIN Elite ABC (Art. No. PK-6102) or ABC AP (Art. No. AK-5002) systems are applicable.

Storage:2-8°C
