CA511: Cathepsin D

Polyclonal Antibodies

Origin:Rabbit

Isotype:Ig

Clone:polyclonal

Format:ready to use

Quantity:5 ml

Working concentration:neat

Presentation:Antibody solution in stabilizing phosphate buffer pH 7.3. Contains 0.09 % sodium azide**. The volume is sufficient for at least 100 immunohistochemical tests (100 µl working solution / test). Use appropriate antibody diluent e.g. BIOLOGO Art. No. PU002.

Immunogen:Recombinant human Cathepsin D

Specificity:Human Cathepsin D

Species Specificity:Human

General Information:Cathepsin D is a lysosomal enzyme that is involved in intracellular protein metabolism. It is synthesized as a 54 kDa precursor which is processed to a 46 kDa active enzyme product. It is involved in the metabolism of proteoglycans, cartilage collagen and in bone resorption.

Special properties:Beside other factors like EGFR and hormone receptors, Cathepsin D is thought to be a prognostic factor in mamma carcinoma. It is indicative for tumour progression and invasion.

Positive control:Breast carcinoma

Pre-treatment:Pre-treatment with proteases is not recommended!

Applications:IHC(P)

Incubation time:60 min at RT

Secondary reagents:We recommend the use of BIOLOGO's Universal Staining System DAB (Art. No. DA005) or AEC (Art. No. AE005), for higher sensitivities VECTASTAIN Elite ABC (Art. No. PK-6101) or ABC AP (Art. No. AK-5001) systems are applicable.

Storage:2-8°C

Notes:
*BIOLOGO's antibodies are intended for in vitro research use only. They must not be used for clinical diagnostics and not for in vivo experiments in humans or animals.

** The preservative sodium azide is known to be poisonous and potentially hazardous to health. It should be handled only by trained staff. Despite of the product's low azide concentration it must be handled with care. Dispose according to regional rules!
