CA153-1: CA 15-3 (CD227, MUC-1)

Price: 380 € / 1 ml

Monoclonal Antibodies

Origin:Mouse

Isotype:IgG3

Clone:C595(NCRC48)

Format:liquid conc.

Quantity:1 ml

Working concentration:1:20 - 1:100

Presentation:Antibody solution in stabilizing phosphate buffer pH 7.3. Contains 0.09 % sodium azide**. The volume is sufficient for at least 100 immunohistochemical tests (100 µl working solution / test). Use appropriate antibody diluent e.g. BIOLOGO Art .No. PU002.

Immunogen:Purified urinary MUC-1

Specificity:Human mamma carcinoma CA 15-3 (MUC-1, CD227). No cross-reactivity to other tumor-associated antigens like AFP, CEA, PAP, PSA, CA19-9 and CA125.

Species Specificity:Human

General Information:In normal cells the antibody to CA 15-3 labels a mucinous glycoprotein (MUC-1) of glandular epithelial cells of the breast, colon, kidney, liver, lung, pancreas and salivary glands. Additionally fibroblasts of stroma and smooth muscle cells of vessels may be stained

Special properties:In tumours strong staining is observed in breast carcinoma, carcinoma of the gastro intestinal tract, lung, kidneys, bladder and the ovary. Additionally mesothelioma, synovial sarcoma and malign fibrous histiocytoma are CA 15-3-positive. In mamma carcinoma usually a cytoplasmic distribution of the antigen is found, while in benign tumours the antigen is typically located in the apical part of the cells.

Positive control:Mamma carcinoma

Pre-treatment:In paraffin section no pre-treatment is required, however heat induced antigen retrieval may improve the staining. Each laboratory should select it's own optimum staining and pre-treatment conditions.

Applications:C, P, ELISA, WB

Incubation time:60 min at RT

Secondary reagents:We recommend the use of BIOLOGO's Universal Staining System DAB (Art. No. DA005) or AEC (Art.-No. AE005), if higher sensitivity is required VECTASTAIN Elite ABC (Art. No. PK-6102) or ABC AP (Art. No. AK-5002) systems are applicable.

Storage:2-8°C

Notes:
*BIOLOGO's antibodies are intended for in vitro research use only. They must not be used for clinical diagnostics and not for in vivo experiments in humans or animals.

** The preservative sodium azide is known to be poisonous and potentially hazardous to health. It should be handled only by trained staff. Despite of the product's low azide concentration it must be handled with care. Dispose according to regional rules!
