Species Specificity:Mouse, human

General Information:The seco-steroid hormone 1,25-Dihydroxyvitamin D3 plays a vital role in Calcium metabolism, in tissue differentiation and during the growth of bone. The biosynthesis of the hormone is catalysed by a mitochondrial P450-enzyme, 25-Hydroxy-Vitamin D3 1-alpha-Hydroxylase. Although the enzyme has been detected in different tissues, the main site of Vitamin D3 synthesis is the kidney.

Special properties:The polyclonal antibody is well suited for the detection of 25(Hydroxy)Vitamin D3-1-alpha-Hydroxylase in tissues and tissue extracts e.g. in HKC-8 cell line from human proximal tubules (1).

Positive control:Kidney

Applications:Western blot and immunohistochemistry

Secondary reagents:As a secondary reagent we recommend a biotinylated antibody directed against sheep IgG (e.g. VECTOR Art. No. BA-6000 or BA-6080 in combination with Vectastain ABC Standard Art. No. PK-6100) and a suitable peroxidase substrate (e.g. BIOLOGO DAB Art. No. DA002 or AEC Art. No. AE002).

Storage:2-8°C
