Monoclonal Antibodies

Origin:Mouse

Isotype:IgG1

Clone:1F6

Format:ready to use

Quantity:5 ml

Working concentration:neat

Presentation:Antibody solution in stabilizing phosphate buffer pH 7.3. Contains 0.09 % sodium azide**. The volume is sufficient for at least 50 immunohistochemical tests (100 µl working solution / test). Use appropriate antibody diluent e.g. BIOLOGO Art .No. PU002.

Immunogen:Recombinant protein according to the extracellular domain of the CD4 molecule

Specificity:Extracellular domain of the CD4 molecule

Species Specificity:Human

General Information:CD4 is a membrane glycoprotein with a single chain of app. 59 kDa MW. It is expressed by a subgroup of T-Cells (Helper/Inducer-Cells) which make app. 45% of peripheral blood lymphocytes. CD4 is also localized on about 80% thymocytes and to a low percentage on monocytes. It is involved in the detection of antigens, which are presented by antigen presenting cells. CD4 functions as a receptor for HIV (HTLV).

Special properties:The antibody 1F6 is well suited for the detection of CD4+ cells in tissues and cell smears. Usually T-Cell lymphoma in the skin are CD4+ as well as HTLV-1 associated Leukaemia and lymphoma respectively.

Positive control:Tonsil

Pre-treatment:The antigen epitope detected by clone 1F6 is sensitive to the treatment with H2O2. Therefore it is recommended to block endogenous peroxidases with 0.5% H2O2 in Methanol (10 min incubation). This step should be carried out prior to antigen unmasking! Antigen unmasking is performed at 96-100° Celsius in 1 mM EDTA pH 8.0 for 10-20 min.

Applications:C, P

Incubation time:60 min at RT

Secondary reagents:We recommend the use of BIOLOGO's Universal Staining System DAB (Art. No. DA005) or AEC (Art.-No. AE005), if higher sensitivity is required VECTASTAIN Elite ABC (Art. No. PK-6102) or ABC AP (Art. No. AK-5002) systems are applicable.

Storage:2-8°C

Notes:
*BIOLOGO's antibodies are intended for in vitro research use only. They must not be used for clinical diagnostics and not for in vivo experiments in humans or animals.

** The preservative sodium azide is known to be poisonous and potentially hazardous to health. It should be handled only by trained staff. Despite of the product's low azide concentration it must be handled with care. Dispose according to regional rules!
