Presentation:	Antibody solution in stabilizing phosphate buffer pH 7.3. Contains 0.09 % sodium azide**. The volume is sufficient for at least 50 immunohistochemical tests (100 µl working solution / test). Use appropriate antibody diluent e.g. BIOLOGO Art. No. PU002, if further dilution is required.

Specificity:	CD3(epsilon), cytoplasmic C-terminal

Species Specificity:	Human

General Information:	Lymphocytes may be characterized by CD (cluster of differentiation) molecules on the cell surface. The CD3 molecule was assigned as a CD marker on the 1. International Workshop on Human Leucocyte Differentiation Antigens (Paris 1982). The CD3 complex consists of 5 different glycoprotein chains and is characteristic for thymocytes and mature T-lymphocytes. Additionally CD3e is present on Purkinje-cells of the cerebellum.

Special properties:	The antibody against CD3-epsilon stains as well medullary as cortical parts of the thymus and peripheral lymphatic tissues. The antigen can be located on most T-cell lymphoma. Exceptions to that are often large-cell anaplastic lymphoma (CD30-positive). B-cell lymphoma and non-lymphoidal tumours usually are unreactive.

Pre-treatment:	Pre-treatment of formaldehyde-fixed material should be treated with Unmasking Solution E, TRIS-buffered EDTA pH 9 (Art. No. DE006) at 96-100°C

Incubation time:	60 min at RT

Secondary reagents:	We recommend the use of BIOLOGO's Universal Staining System DAB (Art. No. DA005) or AEC (Art.-No. AE005), if higher sensitivity is required VECTASTAIN Elite ABC (Art. No. PK-6102) or ABC AP (Art. No. AK-5002) systems are applicable.
